Terms and Conditions (Revision 1)

Registration

All participating artists, who must be at least 16 years of age, must register and pay the registration fee.

Drawings and paintings may use photographic references and may be executed on location or elsewhere. Each participant may have no more than two surfaces (Paper, boards, canvases) stamped on the morning of the competition.

Members of the organising committee for this art competition are excluded from registering as participating artists.

GDPR

CCDL must comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into effect on May 25, 2018. This means they must protect participants’ data, inform participants about their data processing practices, and respect participants' rights regarding their personal information. 

The organisers of this competition require all participating artists to allow CCDL to hold from the date of a competition registration until 14 days after the competition, their

  • Name,
  • Email address,
  • Mobile telephone number,

Participating artist may authorise CCDL to continue to hold these details for the purpose of other notifications. Anyone, who so authorises, may “unsubscribe” at any time and their records will be removed.

Prize winners may be required to submit their Bank BIC/Swift Code and IBAN for the purposes of transferring monetary prizes. This information will be deleted from CCDL’s records as soon as the funds have been successfully transferred

Submissions

Submissions must be handed in by the stipulated time and at the designated place.

Media may comprise

  • Pencil drawing,
  • Pen and ink,
  • Pastel,
  • Charcoal,
  • Watercolour,
  • Acrylic,
  • Oil,
  • Mixed media,

Size of submitted work shall not exceed A2

Each participating artist is limiting to submitting one work of art.

No signature or other means of identifying the artist may be displayed on any submission until after the “Judging” is complete and prize-winners announced. Works of art will be identified by the participating artist’s registration number.

Copyright and ownership

Each artist retains copyright and ownership of their own submitted work of art, be it a prize winning submission or not.

The artist permits the organisers and their agents to take photographs/videos of the artist and their work for promotional purposes. Such use, however, requires the permission of the artist.

Health & Safety

Participating artists must assess any potential hazards and risks that their selected location may present. Artists must not block pavements, exits etc. or otherwise locate in a position that puts the public in any added danger.

The organisers must be informed immediately of any accident and the participating artist(s) shall follow his/her instructions.

Judging the submissions

The person who is appointed to judge the competition submissions will be an independent professional artist with no direct connection with CCDL.

Limit of Liability

CCDL, subject to law, accepts no responsibility for loss or injury to persons or property arising from participation in this event.

Refund Policy

Refunds, if eligible, are limited to registration fees paid to CCDL. Eligibility in this context means situations that have occurred since registration that renders it impossible for the artist to participate.
