Paint The Town art competition 13th September 2025

CCDL is delighted to promote this one-day art competition on 13th September entitled “Paint the Town”. It is hoped to make this an annual event. The subject matter shall be selected by the competitor within the specified boundaries below

 

East: Peoples Park east side (includes Park), Glenageary road lower,

South: Tivoli Road from Gleanageary Road lower to York Road junction,

West: York Road, Clarence Street,

North: the sea shore including the east and west piers. Images can show the sea beyond the boundary,

 

Competitors are required to pre-register between 11th August and 10th September by downloading or requesting an entry form. The completed entry form should be sent to 2 Park Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin A96 P621, or emailed to thwf@europe.com

Payment should be by cheque to "Christ Church Dun Laoghaire" or by EFT (BIC and IBAN provided on request).

 

The competition will start at 08:30 on the 13th September and works of art must be submitted in CCDL’s parish hall by 17:00 (5pm). Check-in will commence at 08:30 in the parish hall. Paper, canvasses etc. of competitors will be stamped on the reverse side (Maximum 2 sheets/canvases) and each competitor will be given an identification number. No other identification may be on the work of art until the judging is competed. Judging will be by an independent professional artist. Final entries are limited to 1 work of art per competitor.

 

Prizegiving will commence in the Parish Hall at 18:00 at which there will be a wine reception (wine, soft drinks, savories etc.). Christ Church will award a first prize of €300.00 and a special prize of €200.00 for amateur artists and beginners only. There may be additional prizes awarded by commercial sponsors.
